The Ram Temple is located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. The Ram Temple is founded on the presumed birthplace of Lord Rama, the revered hero of the Ramayana who is considered by Hindus to be an incarnation of God Vishnu. Ayodhya is one of the seven holy places for Hindus.


On August 5, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the Bhoomi Poojan (Bhoomi Poojan) to mark the start of the construction of the Ram Temple.


On January 22, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed the role of Chief Yajman (Chief Patron) for the event and conducted the Prana Pratishtha (Consecration) of Ram Lalla. The event was organized by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra.
